Causas y soluciones del “colgajo de cesárea”: por qué aparece y cómo puede abordarse

Tras una cesárea, es común que aparezca un pequeño pliegue de piel sobre la cicatriz, conocido popularmente como “colgajo de cesárea”. Aunque suele generar preocupación estética, no representa un riesgo para la salud y es una consecuencia frecuente del embarazo y del proceso de cicatrización quirúrgica.

Este pliegue se forma porque la piel y los tejidos abdominales se adaptan de manera diferente tras la cirugía. Factores como el estiramiento de la piel durante el embarazo, la acumulación de grasa en la parte baja del abdomen, la cicatrización interna, la retención de líquidos y la genética influyen en su aparición y visibilidad.

Para atenuarlo, se recomiendan hábitos saludables como una alimentación equilibrada y actividad física adaptada al posparto. Ejercicios suaves que fortalezcan el abdomen profundo y el suelo pélvico, junto con cuidados adecuados de la cicatriz, pueden mejorar la firmeza de la zona. En algunos casos, tratamientos estéticos no invasivos o la orientación médica especializada pueden ser una opción.

Si el pliegue causa molestias, irritación o afecta la calidad de vida, lo más adecuado es consultar con un profesional de la salud para evaluar alternativas según cada caso.
