1. Identify the Bug
Lice: Tiny, gray/tan insects (sesame seed size). They leave teardrop-shaped eggs (nits) glued to the hair near the scalp, especially behind the ears and at the neck.

Ticks: Dark, flat bugs that stay motionless and attached directly to the skin.
Accidental Bugs: Random outdoor insects (like small beetles) that harmlessly landed in the hair.
Note: Itching isn’t immediate. Always rely on visual checks rather than waiting for your child to scratch.

2. How to Treat
For Lice: Use the wet-combing method. Apply conditioner to wet hair and comb thoroughly with a fine-toothed metal comb every 2–3 days for two weeks.
For Ticks: Pull straight out using sterilized tweezers, pulling gently from as close to the skin as possible.

For the Home: Wash bedding, hats, and towels in hot water. (Lice die quickly away from the human head).
